OUR PURPOSE
Greek life was founded at Clemson University in 1970. There are currently four Greek councils: the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council and the College Panhellenic Association, for a combined total of 47 chapters.
The College Panhellenic Association serves as the governing body for 13 National Panhellenic Conference chapters on campus. As an association, we advocate the advancement of the sorority experience for each of the 3,000+ Panhellenic women at Clemson University. We seek to strengthen the Panhellenic community by promoting positive values in our members. Panhellenic membership at Clemson University is based on four core values: scholarship, sisterhood, leadership and service. Through educational, service, and social activities, the College Panhellenic Association strives to develop its members during and also post college. The College Panhellenic Association is led by an Executive Board, composed of elected leaders, representative of different chapters on campus. We ensure that our chapters have the resources they need to succeed and that they provide an enriching experience for our members while complying with our policies and procedures.
Mission Statement
To inspire, empower, and create women leaders by providing opportunities for both personal and professional development.
Vision Statement
To see every woman lead without limitations.
THE PANHELLENIC CREED
We, as Undergraduate Members of women’s fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities.
We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
Core Values
✰ Scholarship
Scholarship is our first core value because at the heart of our college experience is academics. Panhellenic sororities set high academic standards for their members. For the past 25+ semesters, the all-Panhellenic grade point average (GPA) has been higher than the all-women GPA at Clemson University. Sorority chapters help support their members’ academics through study hours, tutors, collaborative resources and much more. We inspire our sisters to lead and support each other, so they can excel in the classroom.
♥ Sisterhood
Joining a sorority means becoming a part of a community on campus and a sisterhood for life. Chapters will host socials and sisterhood events to introduce new members to the rest of the chapter, familiarize each member with their sisters, and provide space to strengthen the bonds between members. Your sisters will help you to aim higher, dream bigger, support one another, and broaden your worldview during your four years at Clemson and beyond to the rest of your life.
We strive for our sisterhood to reflect the diversity of the Clemson community. Becoming a sorority member provides a network of women from different backgrounds, experiences, and parts of the world. In the same way that Clemson makes us family, Panhellenic makes us sisters. It is our sisterhood that unites us, but our love for each other that keeps us together.
♕ Leadership
Our sororities value leadership and encourage their members to become involved inside and outside of the Greek Community. Taking on a leadership role within your chapter or Panhellenic provides a direct road to action within the Clemson community. Each chapter has positions and programs that allow their members to learn and develop their leadership, time management, communication, collaboration and relationships, and professionalism skills. The valuable experience and skills gained through Panhellenic leadership positions will help prepare you for professional opportunities long after graduation.
We are proud that our Panhellenic members extend their leadership beyond the Panhellenic sisterhood. Our sisters are involved in leadership roles throughout other student organizations, initiatives, and clubs across the broader Clemson community.
❃ Service
Each chapter is partnered with a unique philanthropic effort, to which they donate extensive time and money. Individual chapters host different events each semester to educate the Clemson community about their philanthropy and the matters their philanthropy advocates on behalf of. In addition, they raise funds for their philanthropy to advance its mission. To remain in good standing, sorority women must complete a certain amount of community service hours, as dictated by their chapter.
Panhellenic is proud of each chapter’s commitment to social good and financially supports their respective philanthropic efforts. In addition, Clemson Panhellenic proudly supports the Circle of Sisterhood Foundation. Together we work to raise money to remove educational barriers for girls and women facing poverty and oppression.
